Welcome to EarthSmoke, where ancient tradition meets modern rescue. We are a collective of keen foragers and folk herbalists dedicated to the art of cultivating both native and rare medicinal plants used by practitioners throughout history.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that nature provides a complete pharmacy, provided we treat the land with the respect it deserves. We have a deep appreciation for the preservation of natural habitats, ensuring these healing wonders remain for the benefit of future generations of natural, living men and women.

Born from our life with our resident rescue, Brong, Herbs4Paws is the heart of our work. Our story truly began on a quiet country roadside where we found Brong, a tiny two-month-old kitten left to fend for herself.

Raising an orphaned rescue taught us that conventional care is sometimes only half the battle. When Brong faced health hurdles—from her "Green Digestive Dramas" to her acute nursing recoveries—we turned to the forest. Watching the power of herbs heal her was our "lightbulb moment." We realized that many pet parents are looking for the same thing: effective, chemical-free, and ethically sourced remedies.

đŸŒČ Our Philosophy: The Windfall Rule & The One-Third Principle

We don't just use herbs; we respect them. We follow the Windfall Rule, prioritizing the harvest of what the forest gifts to the floor after a storm—protecting the "Lungs of the Forest" while we protect our pets.

To further protect our natural habitats, we have dedicated ourselves to growing as many medicinal plants as possible in our own garden. We only turn to nature for what cannot be cultivated at home. When we do forage, we are committed to sustainable stewardship and never engage in excessive harvesting. Our practice is guided by three core pillars:

  1. Abundance Only: We only harvest in areas where nature has provided a true plenty and where the species cannot be grown in our own medicinal sanctuary.

  2. The One-Third Rule: We take only one-third of what we find—leaving one-third for the wildlife and one-third to ensure the plants can reproduce for future generations.

  3. Intentional Need: We harvest only what we need for our apothecary, ensuring nothing of nature's gifts is ever wasted.
